In a landmark judgement, holding parents of school-going children as consumers, the National Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission has directed a private school to pay Chennai-based parents Rs 2.9 lakhs as compensation for the death of their child in the school premises. Finally, there seems to be a place for parents and school children to air their grievances - as consumers.
